Join Tatianna in discovering negative painting and learning to see with the right side of your brain. Develop your own style by experimenting with the use of various gels, mediums and transparent glazing techniques. Learn to squint away the details and focus on the main shapes. Acrylics & Collage - $199

Experiment by combining acrylics and collage to push your work to a new level. Acrylics have excellent adhesive qualities enabling one to develop highly textured surfaces on which to paint. Tissue papers, watercolour paper, cardboard, and other objects can be applied to a variety of themse from abstract to still life to portraits.

Join fly-fishing guide and casting instructor Ian Muirhead to explore the fascinating art and science of fly fishing. You will learn the basic principles of casting and gain an understanding of the skills required to become a successful fly fisher. This will include proven tips and techniques for catching trout and salmon in the rivers, lakes and beaches of Vancouver Island.

Blossom with Yoga - $199

Over three days, we'll practise yoga asana (postures), meditation, visualization and pranayama (breathing techniques), all aimed at opening ourselves up to our deepest potential. As we work through physical blocks in the body, we'll also untie emotional knots, feelings trapped and stagnant energy so we can move beyond. All levels, ages, body types and genders welcome.

The camera is an amazing tool to help focus our minds on the here-and-now, especially for those of us who have trouble sitting still for ordinary meditation. A fun, simple approach to painting the human figure - with great, professional results. You will learn to confidently mix skin tones for modeling the body, the structure of the human form, perspective of the head and face, and emotional content of the painting, with lots of studio time using a live model in short and long poses.

Spend two fast-paced, fun-filled days exploring the wonderful world of watercolours. This workshop will focus on creating a fun and excitng way to paint a simple landscape in watercolour.  Pastels - Exploration in Dry Painting - $199

Soft pastels are luscious and beautiful in colour. Not only are they immediate but no drying time is required. They can be applied in a variety of ways including line, hatching, jottings and strokes, blending and fine detailing. Have fun trying this medium on three different papers; one prepared together. There will be opportunity to work with your preferred subject.

Learn to Knit - $199 (+$25 material fee)

Have you secretly admired the hand knit accessories you see your friends wearing? You too can create these wonders! Of course, you need to start at the beginning and learn the basics, and that process can be a lot of fun as well. The art of knitting is not just about the finished product...it's about the journey towards that peice of wearable art. This workshop will take you through the foundation of techniques, cast-on and bind-off, knit, purl, shaping, and reading a pattern. You'll create one simple item, and start a more complext project.

Intermediate Knitting - $199
May 30 - June 1

Knitting has enjoyed a resurgence in popularity over the last few years. In order to produce professionally finished garments, we will be learning some new techniques and revisiting some old ones, from choosing and substituting yarns to finishing necklines and seaming. We shall also be learning a quick sock technique and fascinating Moebius cast on.

Latin & Ballroom Dancing - $199
June 3 - 5

Three days of latin and ballroom dance. Jive & Swing is the all-time dance favourite that rocked world dance and is enjoyed by all ages. This workshop will consist of some easy basic steps and end with fun variations and turns. The Latin fever sessions will introduce a variety of dance rhythms including the Mambo/Salsa/Cha-Cha/Rumba for absolute beginners for both partnered and single dances. We'll also throw in some Foxtrot and Waltz for those looking for ballroom dances. All sessions will focus on the fun and social aspects of dance in an easy going atmosphere.

Gypsy Spirit - Discover Gypsy Belly Dance - $199

Discover your 'gypsy spirit' with Gypsy (Romani) style bellydance. You'll quickly learn the basic moves to passionate music and lively rhythms. Celebrate the informal spontaneity of traditional Romani dance styles from Turkey, Spain and Egypt, with distinctive steps and sinuous movements you can blend with any other dance style. This workshop blends bellydance warmups and fundamentals with Gypsy/Romani dance to provide a gentle total body workout that is easy on your joints, increases flexibilty - and is a lot of fun!
