Wildlife awaits in Campbell River

Guests on wildlife adventure tours and ocean rapids trips have been treated to some special visitors - whales! A pod has moved into the area and whales are often spotted on the tours from Painter's Lodge and April Point Resort. One tour witnessed a humpback and a killer whale swimming side by side! As for the fishing in the area, anglers are enjoying the activity on the Pinks in the local waters. Chinook continue to average in the 10-25 lb range and with Coho and Sockeye open, there's plenty of opportunity to land a nice fish for an end of summer barbeque.
