The salmon are running in the Discovery Passage!

Painter's Lodge and April Point Resort report great action on 3 types of salmon with Chinook averaging 18-22 lbs, hatchery Coho in the 5-7 lb. range and a handful of Pinks in the 4-6 lb. range. Hot spots continue to be the Lighthouse, Deepwater and Brown's Bay. North of the resort, anglers are fishing 90-130 feet; south it is shallower at 20-30 ft and around the Lighthouse, the most successful anglers are fishing depths of anywhere from 180 -240 ft. Cut plug herring, hoochies and flasher combinations are the guides' choices at this time of year. Stay tuned for more updates!
