Painter's Lodge Women Derby Reels 'Em In!

Painter's Lodge just wrapped up their very successful 9th annual Women's Derby with a strong showing of springs in the mid to high twenties. The winner of the derby topped the scales at 26 lbs (although an extra tide brought in a 31 lb Tyee!). Coho and Sockeye are now making their presence known in the Discovery Passage, especially at Deepwater Bay and the Green Sea area. Anglers are using anchovies and flashers, gatorback green hootchies and 4-inch plugs and fishing anywhere from 150-250 feet. Things are sure heating up!
