Another beautiful day here at Painter's Lodge. The fishing was HOT!
One boat caught their limit, four nice 20 pounders, AND a 67 pound halibut. We've been catching a few halibut here and there, but nothing a big as this one. It was so big we couldn't accurately weight it because the tail end of the fish was dragging on the ground. Our scale wasn't high enough for a fish of that size!
Ian Gadd caught himself a beautiful 32 pound Tyee today. And Martti Palosari may not have caught a Tyee but he was soooo close I am going to put him as an honorable mention with his 29.75 lbs Chinook!
Whale watching was fabulous yesterday and today. On top of seeing the whales, they got an extra treat: dolphins playing around the boat. Today the whales were a little more south than usual which means less time driving to see them and more time watching and hangin' out with them.
That's all for today. Thanks for checkin' in. Hope you have a wonderful day.
