The Chum fishing at Painter's Lodge in the Campbell River area has been impressive lately with these fighting fish averaging 12-15 pounds and reaching as much as 22 lbs. Anglers are releasing good sized fish as well as catching their limits. Chinook fishing is still holding its own with one lucky angler netting a 31 lb. Tyee earlier in the week. Anglers are battling Coho and Pinks in these fall waters as well, making the most of this great late season weather. Places like Separation Head, Deepwater Bay and Plumpers are seeing most of the action as anglers are using flasher-hoochie combos in a variety of colours to haul in some pretty impressive salmon.
