I feel like I’m just now sitting down after 2 days of running around…and it’s not even the weekend yet!
Our 18th Annual Painters at Painter’s begins tomorrow and there has been so much preparation to take care of at both Painter’s and April Point. I’m already blown away by how much work goes into making this calibre of an event happen and how appreciative all of our artists, guests and visitors are for the experience.
Like I said, Painters at Painter’s hasn’t even officially begun, but many artists –paintings in tow– have arrived and a buzz of excitement can be felt around both properties. Our featured artist’s work is being set up for display in the Discovery Room and the Trophy Room at Painter’s Lodge. I took a quick detour through the Discovery Room and caught a glimpse of just a few fabulous pieces and can tell you we’re really in the presence of greatness.
Down on the docks and in the marinas our crew is witnessing the calm before the storm. Approximately 1,000 people will come through our doors this weekend and you bet they’ll be on the boats! Many attendees of the event stay overnight at April Point but take the water shuttle back and forth during the day. We also have guests staying at Painter’s who travel in packs to see beautiful Quadra Island while they have the chance. Either way, our crew is ready for the crowds.
If you’d like to see what this year’s event has in store for attendees, the 2012 itinerary is posted here http://www.painterslodge.com/lodge/events/painters-at-painters/
See you in a few,
