Several pods of whales were feeding in Johnstone Strait, and guests were treated to dozens of whale sightings. A pair of curious whales made their way slowly and majestically past our Zodiac, surfacing every 30 seconds and giving guests the thrill of a lifetime.
Near Stewart Island, hundreds of eagles were sighted on their annual feeding stop. As a hake pass through these waters each year, they are pushed to the surface by the cold water and eagles fill the trees and snack on these easy meals.
And the standing waves and ocean rapids are in full effect, soaking and thrilling guests as they shoot over these marvels of nature.
