A transient treat

Painter's Lodge and April Point Resort & Spa - August 17, 2006

What a beautiful week here at April Point. The weather has been great, sunny every day. The fish are still coming in strong. The Sockeye are really starting to pick up. In fact, today it was about half Sockeye half Chinook. Alan Knockey caught himself a Tyee, a beautiful 35 pound Chinook. Congrats Alan!

We had an extra special treat today. There were five transient whales swimming right in front of Painter's Lodge and April Point Resort. They munched down a few seals on the way, and were last seen heading towards Mitlenatch Island.
