Today, April Point took delivery of 250,000 Chinook salmon smolts for our pen, marking the 19th year of our participation in this amazing program. The smolt will be fed and live here for about 4-5 weeks before they are released.
The photo below shows the April Point and Quinsam Hatchery crews helping the smolts into their new home.
In other news, another pod of transient Orcas came through yesterday morning feeding just off the rocks. They must be getting ready for the opening of our Campbell River operations.
