Picture yourself spending the weekend with some of Western Canada’s premier professional photographers.

If photography is your passion or just your pastime, this weekend will broaden your horizons, polish your skills and inspire your creativity.

Learn personal techniques from professional photographers amidst the intimate settings of workshops and panel discussions. Each of the presenters' work will be displayed in our gallery.

Day Passes

Sports Photography – Andy Clark

Join Andy as he shares over 40 years of sports photography including shots from his recent assignment: the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics. Andy's career began his career with The Canadian Press as a copyboy in 1970 and spanned several news outlets before accepting a position as Prime Minister Brian Mulroney’s official photographer. In 1987 Andy re-joined Reuters and has been based in Brussels, London, Toronto and now Vancouver. Mr. Clark has traveled extensively throughout the world covering famines, disasters, world summits, sporting events, the first Gulf War and conflicts in the Balkans.

David Montizambert – The Creative Side of Photoshop

Many photographers bemoan the passing of film. In this session, international lighting/photoshop trainer Dave Montizambert will show you how to recreate some of film’s most loved characteristics digitally. Dave will also show how to digitally paint with light utilizing Photoshop. You will learn how to; create a soulful portrait & still-life using digital light painting; reclaim the grit of film using Dave’s digital grain effects; and mimic over the lens softening filters with Photoshop.

Steven will guide you through taking your landscape photographs from postcards to art. In fine art landscape photography, technical competence is not enough. In this seminar, Steven will teach you how to capture the emotional impact of the landscape that inspires him to take his photographs. Throughout this seminar, you will learn the pivotal role of light, timing, composition, and the art of seeing. You will learn about Steven's thought process that went into creating each of his photographs presented, many of which were captured after careful planning.
