At the Resort
Check in time at both Painter’s Lodge and April Point Resort & Spa is 3:00 pm. Check out time is 12:00 pm.
Fishing
The Painter’s Lodge and April Point Resort Marine Centres are where seasoned and novice anglers alike can get fishing licences as well as helpful tips to ensure their success and enjoyment on the water. Guests booked on fishing packages may wish to book extra fishing in addition to their scheduled times; if so, arrangements should be made in advance through your reservation coordinator or at the resort’s Marine Centre.
Approximate fishing times are as follows:
- Morning – 6 am to 10 am
- Mid-day – 11 am to 3 pm
- Evening – 4 pm to 8 pm
Your reservation coordinator can advise which fishing trips are included in your package. Please confirm your fishing times upon arrival at the resort.
We encourage all guests who are not on a package to pre-book their fishing before arrival to ensure the availability of preferred fishing times. If you are unsure of your arrival time, you will need to be at the Marine Centre no later than 3:00 pm to ensure a guide will be available for the evening fishing trip. Any additional fishing can be arranged on a daily basis as requested.
Fish Handling
Fish will be cleaned and refrigerated during your stay with us. Freezing is available upon request for extended stays. If you prefer to have your catch canned or smoked, we can deliver your catch to the cannery for a reasonable cost. The cannery will forward it directly to you after processing. There is no charge to our guests for cleaning, refrigerating or freezing of your catch. Fish boxes and gel packs are available for transport. We recommend that guests driving home bring a cooler for their catch.
Complimentary Child Care
Parents need a vacation, too. Painter’s Lodge and April Point Resort & Spa offer complimentary child care while you’re out fishing so you can enjoy some real R & R during your stay. Our kid’s room is stocked full of games, books and videos, and an accredited day care provider will make sure your little ones have a great time. Please let the front desk know your plans as soon as possible so we can make arrangements.
Payment
Traveller’s cheques, Visa, MasterCard, American Express, enRoute and Diner’s Club are welcome. We regret we cannot accept personal cheques at the resort
