Records broken at Painter's Lodge!

Painter's Lodge - August 5, 2002

Saturday, August 3 saw the largest Chinook of the season, this 38 lb. Chinook caught by Mr. Doug Tenzler of Gig Harbour, WA and his buddy. This 38 lb. record stood for 24 hours and then was broken by Salman Ebrahim of Toronto, ON and his buddy with a beautiful 40 lb. spring. Congratulations guys!

Needless to say, the fishing continues to be hot with the majority of the Chinook being taken from the Hump area 100-150 feet. There's Sockeye up to double digits in the Browns Bay area anywhere up to 60 ft and Coho right at the surface. Anglers are using flashers, hoochies and flasher/anchovy combinations as lures and the ever popular live herring and anchovies for bait.
