Twenty-four degrees and sunny! We truly couldn’t have asked for a better Opening day to showcase all of our staff’s hard work and preparation over the past few weeks. As soon as we opened our doors, curious guests began to stroll in eager to see what we have to offer this season.
The Tyee Pub, Fireside Lounge, and Legends Dining Room at Painter’s Lodge were lively with some new and familiar faces, the patio being the clear choice with our summer-like weather. Across the water at April Point, several locals wandered over to check-out our fresh menu from new Executive Chef Kevin Wallace and new Chef-de-Cuisine Ian Murphy. A few guests even touched down in their private helicopter to stop in for lunch and cocktails in the sun— No big deal!
In the late afternoon at Painter’s, a lovely couple exchanged their vows overlooking the ocean, the picture-perfect spot for a small private wedding. Shortly after, our first fishing charter of the season departed our dock hoping to catch the evening bite. And finally this morning, a good sign of an abundant fishing season—two of our guests brought in four Spring from their charter.
Today we start welcoming both amateur and professional photography enthusiasts to our 9th Annual Photographers at Painter’s. The first sessions begin around 9am tomorrow morning, and I’ll be there to cover all of the action (and hopefully pick up some helpful tips myself!). If you’re on Twitter, make sure to follow our tag #PhotoatPL for live updates on the event.
A big thank-you to everyone who made our Opening Day a tremendous success. We look forward to seeing the rest of you soon.
