The big story over the last few days up here at Painter’s Lodge has been 10 year old Kai Schmidt’s 36 lb Chinook. Kai fought it like a champion and managed to haul it in all by himself. Congratulations Kai!
The Sockeye are starting to show up a little further north, and the guides are saying 2 or 3 days from now it’s going to be a big time Socks show around here. A few pinks have been hitting the dock lately too so lots of action for everyone. Congratulations to Gord Silverstein who had a spectacular day on the water netting 20 and 24 lb Chinooks. Laurie and Daniel Dirks did pretty well too bringing back 15 and a 20 pounders as well. We’re well into summer now and the fish are rollin’ in.
Whale watching has been very popular for us lately, with full boats seeing whales almost every day. Resident pods have been hanging around our neck of the woods lately in Frederick’s arm and giving our guests quite the show. Come on up and we’ll get you out on the water for some fun!
