Dr. John Carrie and his parents were fishing on Sunday April 6th, 2003. They had decided to go to Deep Water Bay just North of Seymour Narrows to catch and release Blue Backs [small Coho 3lb to 6lb]. They had spent a wonderful afternoon on water with non-stop action releasing blue backs, and were beginning to think it was time to head back to Painter's Lodge. Their guide Ben had run a deep line [140'] that would target any Chinook in area and it worked! They hooked in to a large fish and fought it for about 30 minutes eventually winning the battle and catching this 38 lb Chinook. Congratulations!
