The story right now at Painter's Lodge and April Point Resort is the Chum run and the exceptional number of Pinks in the area. Chum are averaging 12-15 lbs during the past few days. Anglers are still catching Chinook, with the average spring weighing in at 18 lbs. with the occasional Tyee reaching the docks. Deepwater, Greensea, Plumpers and Hull continue to be the local hot spots. Anglers are using flasher-hoochie combos, coyote spoons and plugs as lures and anchovies, sardines and herrings as bait. The area is having and expects to continue having great fall fishing.
