Painter's Lodge celebrated the Canada Day weekend with the largest fish of the season, a 31.5 lb. Tyee. April Point Resort guests also enjoyed great fishing, with some limiting out within 3 hrs. The bounty of salmon in the waters has also attracted local bears and the Wildlife Adventure Tours are reporting beats in various locations. Hot fishing spots include Brown's Bay, Lighthouse, and Shelter Point anywhere from 200-250 feet. Fish are averaging in the high teens, a great size for the beginning of July. Anchovies and herring, both live and frozen, is the bait of choice with a variety of lures including flashers and hoochies, spoons and plugs. Happy Canada Day!
