It’s offical. Looking in our fish cooler all you can see is guests’s limits of salmon.
Our Campbell River Tyees have moved in and we're seeing some big fish come out of the Tyee pool. So far one 34 lb. Chinook has been registered and there are "smaller" Chinooks coming out on a regular basis… smaller being in the twenties. We've also seen some big pushes of Coho—both wild and hatchery—and bazillions of Pink salmon.
All these fish combined with the fantastic whale watching only half an hour from the lodge are making this a great August to be on the water. Our whale watching guides have counted as many at 41 orcas in Johnstone Straight.
Come on up and get on the water. I'll see you out there at the crack of dawn!
