For those in Campbell River looking for a fine dining experience, there really aren’t a lot of choices. Luckily, there is still one establishment that prides it’s self on original flavours and eye-catching presentation. So, if you’re someone who is tired of eating in restaurant chains and wants a dining experience with a little flair, Legend’s Dining Room at Painter’s Lodge is just what you’re looking for.
I’ve had the pleasure of dining in Legend’s several times this year, and each experience has been better than the last. After being escorted to your ocean-view table you’ll be presented with a menu and a list of the evening’s specials. While most restaurants feature just one or two specials, Legend’s Dining Room offers five specials every night that include a mix of beef, poultry and fresh fish.
The menu features a wide assortment of meats, seafood and vegetarian dishes that are sure to satisfy everyone’s palate. Are you someone who fancies a steak? Legend’s Dining Room has sirloin, strip loin and tenderloin, all of which are certified angus beef. Do you prefer your meal to come from the ocean? We offer a variety of seafood dishes that include salmon, halibut, clams and mussels, as well as our nightly “fresh fish” features. Not a meat eater? Between the delicious salads and entrees that include Sweet Potato Gnocchi and Baked Squash there are more than enough items to satisfy your vegetarian cravings.
If you’re still not sure what to have, here’s my personal recommendation: Start with the Sweet Red Pepper Stuffed Baskets. These delicious little red peppers are stuffed with shrimp and served with peppered salami and a tomato vinaigrette. For your entrée, go with Legend’s Fish n’ Chips. Our take on this classic pub dish features panko crusted baked halibut with hand cut potatoes and house made tartar sauce. For desert, you can’t go wrong with the Blood Orange Meringue, which consists of a layered orange curd, baked meringue and raspberry coulis.
So, for your next night out, treat yourself to something special. Head on down to Painter’s Lodge and try Legend’s Dining room. It promises to be a meal you won’t forget.
Catch you later,
