On Saturday morning Willina and Jim Collins, guided by Tom, caught their limit after two hours of fishing but stayed on the water so Tom could find a couple for himself as well. Romy Fitzau was awarded title of Daily Winner that evening for reeling in a 26.4 lb. Chinook.
Over 40 Chinook alone were weighed in on the Painter’s dock on Sunday, the largest being 28.7 lbs. and belonging to Allen Nielson. On Monday it was a Tyee that won Louis Pariseault a free night’s stay at Painter’s Lodge.
Sean Ready came very close to becoming our new August Heat Derby leader this morning but his Chinook was just 5 oz. too small. Still, a 35.4 lb. salmon is one to be immensely proud of and Sean does have the largest catch of the day at Painter’s Lodge.
A big pat on the back to all of our anglers! Two and half weeks left to go in the derby so keep up the hard work.
Brooklynne and Adelle sat in the very front of the zodiac on this afternoon’s Wildlife Adventure Tour. Sixty dolphins, two black bears, two humpbacks, a sea lion and seals were just a few of the tour sightings that Brooklynne was excited to tell me about.
Melissa and Kiel were married in the sunshine at April Point on Saturday while Kristy and Dave said, “we do” on the Discovery Lawn at Painter’s. We love our weddings so this Tuesday was made even more enjoyable by Laura and Andrew’s mid-week nuptials.
The first of the final 5 Jazz at the Points of the season begin tonight and we anticipate a great showing. Jazzberry Jam never disappoints, either.
See you in a few,
