Dock Talk

Weddings, wine, whales and more

Painter's Lodge and April Point Resort & Spa - July 13, 2009

Holly molly the fishing has been sensational lately! There’s been a line up at the fish cleaning table for over a month, and the dock and cooler staff have been buried in fish for weeks!

We’ve had sooooo many this year it crazy. Our rookie guide has the Tyee (a Chinook over 30 lbs.) record this year with six. We caught six Tyee total last year. It think that’s a little more than beginners luck.

The Pachena Princess, our new covered cruiser, has been a great success. Guests have been raving about the Wine and Cheese tours. There's nothing better than finishing off a great day than having a nice glass of wine watching the sun go down over the ocean. We’ve had a few private parties on the boat too, a few company parties, and some stags and stagettes, which are always a good time.

Whale watching started up on the 1st of July, the boats been going out nearly everyday and they’ve reported seeing whales plenty of whales.

You can tell that it’s wedding season, just this weekend we had a beautiful wedding, and congrats are in order for the new Mr. & Mrs. Kyle Smith. We also had a bunch of boys here celebrating a stag, and boat full of ladies partying on the Pachena for a stagette.

Well that about sums up our fun filled weekend. Thanks for checkin’ in. Hope you have a wonderful day.
