It’s that time of year again folks! In the last 10 days we’ve been seeing Tyee after Tyee come to the dock.
Last night Ashley Greenwood managed to haul in a 38 lb Chinook and set a new season record in the process! They landed it out at Brown’s Bay, fishing about 130 feet using anchovies.
Honourable mention also goes to Rob Paso who caught a 27 lb Chinook.
This morning Stewart Shunk hooked a 32 lb’er that proved to be quite a battle. This time it was about 70 feet, on anchovies again. Pinks are starting to show up now too, and Sockeye are now open.
Whale watching has been a huge success lately, with a large pod of Orcas seen yesterday afternoon just north of Robson Bight. Baby Orcas were breaching and everyone on board had a wonderful time. Black bears have been spotted on the beach as have a few deer. The temperatures are soaring up here at Painter’s Lodge. Come up on and we’ll get you out on the water for some fun.
