Still going strong

Painter's Lodge and April Point Resort & Spa - September 9, 2006

The excellent Sockeye fishing in Campbell River has continued to impress our guests this week. One of the largest Sockeye runs on record is still going strong! Brown’s, Deepwater and Green-sea bays are all producing large numbers of Sockeye.

The big news this week has been our first member of the Tyee Club, Ed Walker. Ed caught a 31 lb Chinook out of a rowboat in the world famous Tyee pool. Ed is now a life-long member of the esteemed Tyee Club. Congratulations Ed!

Our adventure tours have also been very exciting over the last few days. Guests on today’s rapids tour got an added bonus seeing a large male Humpback wheel breach. They also saw black bears on the beach, in addition to the thrilling ocean rapids tour.

The sun is shining and the fish are biting so come on up to Painter’s and check it out for yourself!
