Orcas and dolphins in the passage

Painter's Lodge and April Point Resort & Spa - May 4, 2007

It’s been a couple of exciting days in Discovery Passage. We spotted a pod of 5 transient Orcas feeding in the tide just south of April Point plus a small humpback whale and about 50 Pacific white-sided dolphins in the area. Most of the sightings have been within a 10 minute boat ride from the lodge so even the fishing boats have been getting to view the wildlife.

The fishing has been steady with lots of smaller Chinook hanging around. We're getting ready for the BIG Kings to come in.

On top of all this the weather has been beautiful! Come and see for your self!
