This time last month we were saying how the Season's end is creeping up on us...but now, it's right around the corner! And how sad it is to think that another Summer has come and gone? Staff will wander off to winter jobs, fishing will slow down to the resilient few who don't feel wind and rain, and lastly, the grounds at Painter's Lodge will go vacant, quietly waiting until next Spring.
It's true, Fall means warm nights by the fire, beautiful, if not crisp cold afternoons and an abundance of cinnamon and pumpkin flavored things, but for a moment, let me share a couple memorable moments that took place this Summer...
In the early morning hours on July 25th, Jordan and Laura got on the whaler with their guide Blake, and set out for a day of fishing. The rods weren`t even in the water when Jordan got down on one knee and asked his girlfriend to marry him. She said yes.
Back at the dock, and for the rest of their trip, they celebrated. It was a wonderful moment that couldn`t have been more picture perfect, and we were honored they chose Painter`s Lodge to make the wonderful memory.
Message in a Bottle!
In the water, among the crashing waves, John spotted an incredible discovery. A bottle, within which looked like a number of messages.
On the dock, John explained that he wanted to open the bottle with his 5 year old daughter Audrey, and he followed up with us later on to say that the bottle contained messages from some kids and their nanny. The messages said hello and offered well wishes to the finder of this rare ocean gem, giving contact information on how to reach them and tell the story of their bottle lost at sea. John was elated to take such a story home with him to Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, and looks forward to returning again someday soon.
