Yesterday Richard Sun waited until the evening tide to catch his prize-winning 28 lb. Chinook that made him the daily winner at Painter’s Lodge. At April Point it was Cam Seville who won the title with his 27.2 lb. salmon from that afternoon.
The Pachena Princess escorted a number of guests on a Sunset Tour yesterday evening. A beautiful day made for a picture-perfect sunset and I had the fortune of viewing it from the Pachena (if just briefly). April Point had a full dining room for Jazz at the Point and the water taxi shuttled many relaxed, happy and full guests back and forth as the sun sank behind Vancouver Island. I feel an enormous sense of pride knowing our visitors from far and wide see proof of just how lucky we are to live here.
Between the two resorts 43 fishing boats (4 cruisers and 37 whalers) went out today but we’re still awaiting the return of the evening boats. So far today’s Chinook to beat is 25.3 lbs. and belongs to Dino Piovesan.
Spotted on our zodiac tours today: a small fox swimming his way from Sonora to Maurelle Island, dolphins in Discovery Passage north of Campbell River and 8 orcas at Hanson Island.
See you in a few,
